What is Recon?

Recon is a dating platform, used predominantly by the gay and bisexual male fetish community. It can be accessed via browser or mobile app. User profiles often contain graphic descriptions and nude images. Search filters allow users to be sorted by fetish, physical characteristics and location.

Users can chat via direct message and add each other as friends. You can also follow other members. When you follow someone, updates about that person (such as new photos or their event RSVPs) appear on your feed. You can see the following and followers of other users.

You can add profile photos and upload other photos to either a public or private album. Other members cannot see the photos in your private album unless you choose to share them.

Recon also features a list of community events. Users can indicate that they plan to attend an event and can see a list of other members who are planning to attend. The app also has relevant articles about the gay fetish community, such as articles about staying safe during fetish activities. There is also a dedicated Recon app podcast.

Recon can be used for free or with a paid membership. A paid membership unlocks features such as unlimited messaging, additional search functionality and profile views.
