Online safety is a growing priority in Australia, and it is vital that students, young people and community members are receiving the most up to date, reliable education on the issues that matter.
Under the Trusted eSafety Provider program, eSafety endorses providers of online safety education that demonstrate appropriate expertise and experience and a best-practice approach to online safety.
You can choose a Trusted eSafety Provider and have confidence that they will deliver high quality online safety education for your school or community organisation.
How can a Trusted eSafety Provider support my school or organisation?
Trusted eSafety Providers are endorsed by eSafety after demonstrating appropriate expertise and experience and evidence-based online safety content. They have also demonstrated their compliance with relevant safeguards for working with children, and that they have appropriate insurance.
Trusted eSafety Providers deliver a wide range of online safety education programs around Australia, both in person and online. Formats include:
- presentations
- workshops
- livestreamed video
- theatrical performance
- online learning platforms.
Many providers also deliver professional learning to build educator capability and can work with parents and other community members to help you create an online safety culture in your organisation.
Trusted eSafety Providers offer programs that cover a wide range of online safety topics, including cyberbullying, image-based abuse, privacy and digital literacy.
Some providers also have a wealth of experience and expertise in related areas, such as mental health and wellbeing, consent and respectful relationships, and counselling, to complement their online safety education programs (please note: eSafety only endorses a provider’s online safety program).
What should I consider when choosing a Trusted eSafety Provider?
Every school or organisation is at a different point in their online safety education journey. Trusted eSafety Providers can work with you to understand your needs and recommend the best ways to achieve your objectives – whether they relate to longer term cultural change or responding to more immediate issues.
The eSafety Toolkit for Schools supports schools to identify areas of strength in your policies and practices, and those areas requiring improvement. You can use these insights to help identify a suitable Trusted eSafety Provider, based on their areas of expertise and the services they offer. The ‘Educate’ module also includes a guide to engaging external online safety providers with a handy checklist of what to look for.
