Professional development

To shape a new generation of engineers, computer scientists, lawyers, ethicists, entrepreneurs and technologists, we aim to embed Safety by Design in curricula around the world.

So the future workforce takes a proactive and preventative approach to user safety, we are working with the education sector to incorporate Safety by Design concepts across a broad range of disciplines.

eSafety and RMIT University’s Safety by Design course

The eSafety Commissioner and RMIT University have co-developed a free short course to upskill future tech leaders on how to prevent online products, platforms and services from being unintentionally weaponised to carry out online harms.

The course enables learners to apply Safety by Design throughout the service and product lifecycle, helping galvanise a global online safety movement.

The 12-hour course is available on the RMIT FutureLearn platform and covers:

  • why online safety matters
  • the three principles of Safety by Design
  • industry assessment tools
  • a holistic approach to Safety by Design.

Check the FutureLearn website for course availability.
