What is Sniffies?

Sniffies is a location-based online meeting and hookup website predominantly used by gay, bisexual and bicurious men. It uses your device’s GPS to locate other users nearby and allows you to connect with them. You can set parameters for the people you are paired with, including age, sexuality and sexual preferences.

Sniffies is similar to other online meeting apps used by the queer community, such as Grindr, Scruff and Jack’d. However, it differs from these apps as you are not required to create an account or provide an email address to use the service, and unlike on a Grindr profile, pictures can contain sexually explicit content.

Sniffies is only available through its website and is not available on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, which means it is does not have to comply with rules that prohibit usage by underage users with parental restrictions on their accounts. It is free to use, but there is a paid version, Sniffies Plus, which has added features.
