What is Feeld?

Feeld is a dating and hookup app. It is aimed at people who are interested in things like polyamory, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), non-monogamy, casual sex and kink. It describes itself as an app for both single people and couples who want to explore dating together.

When you sign up to Feeld, you are asked to provide information about yourself and what you are looking for. This can include things like your gender, sexuality, sexual interests and relationship style.

What you can do on Feeld

Set up and manage your profile

Features include:

  • Desires and interests – add information to your profile about your sexual interests, as well as your everyday interests.
  • Paired profiles – link your profile with a partner’s profile who also uses Feeld. You each keep your own separate account, profile, matches and private chats, but other people can see that your profiles are linked and can view your partner’s profile. You can also add your partner to group chats with your matches.
  • Profile verification – verify your profile by taking a selfie that Feeld compares with the photos on your profile. Verified profiles show a verification badge to other users. While verification may help users determine whether an account belongs to a real person, it does not guarantee their identity.

Find and connect with other users

Features include:

  • Profile browsing feature – browse other people’s profiles in the app. Profiles are shown one at a time, and you can choose to like or skip each person. Feeld uses your location and preferences to decide which profiles to show you.
  • Likes – like someone’s profile to show you are interested in them. If you both like each other, you become ‘connections’ and you can message each other. Likes are free to send.
  • Pings – send someone a Ping to show that you are interested in them. As opposed to likes, Pings can include a personal note. Pings cost money to send.

Send messages and chat

Features include:

  • Direct message feature – send direct messages to your ‘connections’ on Feeld. Users can send photos and videos in chats. For photos sent in chats, Feeld automatically detects and blurs content that may contain nudity. Users can choose to view a blurred image.
  • Group chats – talk with up to 25 people in the same chat. You can create a group chat with people you have connected with on Feeld and add more people later.

You can use Feeld for free or with a paid subscription called ‘Majestic’. This has additional features, such as unlimited likes, the ability to see who likes you, and private photos (profile images that can only be seen by people you’ve already connected with). You can also pay separately for a feature called ‘Uplift’ which makes your profile more visible to people in your area for 24 hours.

Feeld requires users to be 18 or older. It uses a video-selfie age verification to check that users meet this requirement.

About The eSafety Guide

The eSafety Guide helps you find out how to protect your personal information and report harmful content on common social media, games, apps and sites. Entries are for information only and are not reviews, endorsements or assessments against any legislative definition by eSafety. Before choosing to use any online service or platform it’s best to:

  • do your own research to understand the risks and benefits

  • consider privacy
  • check the permissions and other settings
  • check the in-app reporting options.

If you are a parent or carer who is deciding whether a child should be allowed to use an online service or platform, you can also:

  • consider your child's readiness for the types of content and experiences they might encounter
  • help them understand what to do if they need help
  • provide ongoing support and monitoring, for example through regular check-ins with your child
  • agree to some rules about use of each service or platform.
