What is The Hub?

The Hub is an app where people can communicate in private groups. Groups on The Hub are spaces where only members can see and share content, including things like videos, images, links, podcasts and audio files.

You can be in multiple groups on the app. Posts from all your groups will appear together in your main feed, shown in date order. You can scroll to see older posts, use the search bar to find something or filter by a specific group. Each group also has its own feed that shows only its posts and a chat function so that members are able to talk with each other. Creating a group is a feature that requires a paid account.

Within a group, there are three roles, each with different levels of permissions. Admins manage all settings and content, creators can share content but cannot change settings, and members can view and interact with posts and chat (if it is enabled) but cannot share content or change settings.

Creating and sharing content with your group is one of the app's main features. Content is split into two main categories: quick content (which uses simple templates for easy sharing) and content builder (which allows for more options, such as multi-screen posts). Only admins or creators can share content in a group.

The Hub offers two main paid plans. The Group Hub subscription includes 1 group with up 10 members (and extra fees if more people join). Organisation hub is for larger organisations and allows for multiple groups and events, with pricing based on the number of members. If your organisation subscribes, an admin can set up groups for you.

The Hub is available for iOS, Android, Mac and Windows. It works on all major devices and does not use ads or algorithms.

About The eSafety Guide

The eSafety Guide helps you find out how to protect your personal information and report harmful content on common social media, games, apps and sites. Entries are for information only and are not reviews or endorsements by eSafety. Before choosing to use any online service or platform it’s best to:

  • do your own research to understand the risks and benefits
  • check the age rating and requirements
  • consider privacy
  • check the permissions and other settings
  • check the in-app reporting options.

If you are a parent or carer who is deciding whether a child should be allowed to use an online service or platform, you can also:

  • consider your child's readiness for the types of content and experiences they might encounter
  • help them understand what to do if they need help
  • provide ongoing support and monitoring, for example through regular check-ins with your child
  • agree to some rules about use of each service or platform.
