Two-factor authentication means two checks are needed before someone can access an account. This gives greater protection to an account. To set up two-factor authentication on Twitter, select the profile photo in the top right-hand side of the home page and then select ‘Settings and Privacy’. Once in Settings, select ‘Mobile’ in the bar on the left. Select ‘Australia’ from the country slash region drop-down menu, then enter the mobile number and select ‘Continue’. The user will then receive a code via text message. Enter the code in the text field, then select ‘Activate phone’. Open ‘Account settings’, go to the Security section. Select ‘Set up Login verification’ Select ‘Start’ Enter the Twitter password and select ‘Send Code’ The Code will be sent to the mobile phone number, and can then be entered into Twitter. 2 Factor Authentication is now set up on the User’s Twitter account. This means every time a user tries to open Twitter they will need to enter a password and verification Code. |
