Be an eSafe kid: Back to school – Truth or trap? Investigating fakes online

About this resource

The webinar is designed to help Year 5 and 6 students investigate and understand fake information and fake friendships online. Students will develop critical thinking skills to identify misinformation and disinformation.

  • identify fake online identities such as impersonator and catfishing accounts
  • use strategies to address harmful or dangerous situations online
  • identify a variety of support pathways. 

Using this resource

Students can participate by:

  • listening to the presenter
  • recording answers to the questions on the worksheet (optional)
  • responding to teacher-facilitated discussions
  • taking the worksheet home and sharing their learning with parents or carers.
