How to turn off wi-fi on Android devices

Wi-fi lets you connect to wireless networks in your vicinity. Connecting to unsecured networks comes with some risks. So it's a good idea to turn off wi-fi when it's not needed. While your Android device might be a little different to the one on screen, the steps to turn off wi-fi will be similar. To turn off wi-fi, open Settings. Locate Wireless & Networks and then Wi-Fi. Swipe the Wi-Fi switch to turn it off. Wi-Fi is now turned off and you can't connect to wi-fi networks until you turn it on again. Since unsecured wi-fi comes with risks to your information, it's also a good idea to forget unsecured network when you leave them. To forget a network, open Settings. Locate Wireless & Networks and tap Wi-Fi. Locate the name of the network you want to forget and tap it. Tap forget. |
