What is Wizz?

Wizz is a social media service targeted at teenagers and young adults that allows you to chat in real time with anyone around the world. The app functions in a similar way to dating apps. You can swipe through profiles that show a person’s photo, first name, age, location and interests. You can then choose to send someone a message or continue swiping left to view more profiles. Wizz is designed to let you chat, alone or in groups, with people who share similar interests to you.

Wizz uses an external age-verification tool to estimate your age with AI technology when you upload a selfie, so that you are matched with people of a similar age. It also uses an automated moderation system to prevent and remove content that violates its content policy. However, the app can potentially match adults with children and contains content appropriate for mature audiences.

Additional features are available through a subscription. Wizz contains advertising and is owned by Voodoo, based in France.
