What is sendit?

Sendit is a question and answer (Q&A app) developed by Iconic Hearts. It lets you ask your friends questions, as well as answer questions they send you, with the option to respond anonymously.

One of the main ways to use sendit is to create a prompt – such as ‘Ask me anything’ – then share the link to the prompt with other people. For example, you can add the link to your Snapchat or Instagram story, and people can tap the link to send you a response. This response will then appear in your sendit inbox. You can also use one of the built-in icebreaker questions.

Sendit also has AI features. You can create an AI clone that learns your behaviour and engages in conversation as if it was you. You can also generate your own profile with information about yourself, including ‘green flags’, which are positive traits about you.

Sendit is particularly popular among users under 18-years-old.

There have been reports that some messages users receive on sendit are fake – generated by the company itself, rather than being sent by friends or other users.

You can use sendit for free or with a paid subscription, which includes features like who has viewed your profile and anonymous browsing.

About The eSafety Guide

The eSafety Guide helps you find out how to protect your personal information and report harmful content on common social media, games, apps and sites. Entries are for information only and are not reviews, endorsements or assessments against any legislative definition by eSafety. Before choosing to use any online service or platform it’s best to:

  • do your own research to understand the risks and benefits

  • consider privacy
  • check the permissions and other settings
  • check the in-app reporting options.

If you are a parent or carer who is deciding whether a child should be allowed to use an online service or platform, you can also:

  • consider your child's readiness for the types of content and experiences they might encounter
  • help them understand what to do if they need help
  • provide ongoing support and monitoring, for example through regular check-ins with your child
  • agree to some rules about use of each service or platform.
