YouTube Kids uses filters powered by algorithms to select videos from YouTube suitable for children. However, no algorithm is perfect. This means your child might still find content you don’t want him or her to watch.

When you first open the YouTube Kids app, you'll be asked to choose the appropriate age level of videos for your child to view:
After you make a selection, the YouTube Kids initial homescreen will show videos that may interest children in that age range.
Once your child has watched a few videos, the app will begin recommending videos on the homescreen based on the terms they've searched for and videos they've watched. These videos may be outside of the age range originally chosen.

If you encounter any inappropriate content, flag the video for review:
Flagged videos are reviewed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will be removed from the YouTube Kids app if necessary.
