  • 61% joint online activities
  • 33% listened to kid’s online problems
  • 19% dealt with online incidents

70% monitored their child’s use:

  • 55% watched what they do online
  • 37% checked browsing history
  • 25% checked social media profile
  • 23% checked friends and groups
  • 19% friended them

59% limited their child’s use. Types of rules:

  • when they can go online 50% 
  • types of accounts 48% 
  • suitability of apps 42% 

79% spoke to their child. They talked about:

  • online rules 55% 
  • what they can do online 52% 
  • being responsible and respectful 49%

Most parents use multiple strategies:

  • 18% used 20 or more strategies
  • 43% used 10 to 19
  • 32% used 2 to 9
  • 3% used 1
